As an art educator, I take pride in and enjoy sharing my knowledge and experience with students of any age to create both 2D and 3D artworks. No matter the medium, it is the collaboration with others that I enjoy most when teaching and making art. As someone with an innate love of art, one of my professional goals is to foster the idea that art is for everyone. Designing a curriculum that stirs both debates and curiosity, one that incorporates a broad and balanced range of artists, art styles, art movements, and art media is a passion of mine.

After graduating from Herron School of Art and Design (USA) in 2014 with a BS in Art Education I spent my first five years teaching at public high schools in the United States. After which I taught for three years in Asia. Currently, I teach IB DP Visual Arts in San Jose, Costa Rica.

As a practicing artist I am interested in combining traditional media and found materials. My initial interests in photorealism, portraiture, and art as a means for social commentary has evolved into a more conceptual approach to artwork. Professionally my strengths lie in 2D media but often find myself pushing the boundaries between flat and sculptural. Currently, I am creating artworks that examine the relationship between personal identity and sense of place using a variety of materials such as acrylic, oil sticks and organic materials on various substrates.

In addition to teaching I appreciate humble activities. The practicing of yoga, being outside in nature, drinking good coffee, cooking and enjoying the company of good friends and even better dogs.
